‘Blow out’ is a phrasal verb which means ‘to put out a flame that is burning’. So if two candles are blown out it means two candles will be made to stop burning. It does not mean they will go out of the room.

Phrasal verb is a verb combined with an adverb or a preposition, or sometimes both, to give a new meaning, for example go in for, win over and see to.

This query is related to the logical and reasoning kind of classification. Here, the phrasal verb- ‘blew out’ refers to the action over the flames of the two candles. The blowing out of the candles means stopping them from burning more. It does not represent that the candles are thrown out of the place they were in. Now, we understand what is being said in the statement made in the query. Therefore, the number of candles that will remain after the flame of two candles are put down is seven out of seven.

Answer: Remaining number of candles is equal to "seven."
