let alpha be A & beta be B.

a=1,b=-(k+6),c=2 (2k-1)

by algebra,

A+B=-b/a

=-(-k-6)/1

=k+6

AB=2 (2k-1)/1

A+B=AB/2

k+6=2 (2k-1)/2

k+6=2k-1

2k-k=6+1

k=7
