you have to study about all the basic things related to music like swar,rag,saptak,nad,shruti ,thaat,alankar ,life story of the main contributor to the music,and few more things .
and for the practical you will have to sing alankars.
i think you you should take vocal music only as an optional subject because in this written paper is of only 30 marks and rest is for practical .even i have also taken vocal music only
