Explanation:

Given If i travel by bus, i reach my office 15 min late, and if i travel by car, i reach 10 min early. If the distance between my home and my office is 25 km, then the difference of the reciprocals of average speeds of the bus and the car, in second per metre is:

We know that 25 km = 25,000 m

15 min = 15 x 60 = 900 s

Now speed by bus will be = 25,000 / 900 = 250 / 9 m/s

Speed by car will be 25,000 / 600 = 250 / 6 m/s

We know that Average speed = 2xy / x + y

So 2xy = 2 x 250 / 9 x 250 / 6

          = 2314.81

So x + y = 250 / 9 + 250 / 6

             = 1250 / 18

So 2xy / x + y = 2314.81 x 18 / 1250

                      = 33.33 m / s
