EXPLANATION:

In this problem, we are going to use unitary method. In this problem, we will find the time taken in hours for 1 km and then finally find the time taken in hours for 2/3 km by multiplying with that of the time taken for 1 km.

⇒ 1/4 km = 1 hour

⇒ 1 km = (1 ÷ 1/4) hours

[On taking 1/4 as reciprocal, we get 4]

⇒ 1 km = (1 × 4) hours

⇒ 1 km = 4 hours

If you walk for 1 km, it will take 4 hours. Therefore,

⇒ Time taken to walk 2/3 km = Time taken to walk 1 km × 2/3 km

⇒ Time taken to walk 2/3 km = (4 × 2/3) hours

⇒ Time taken to walk 2/3 km = 8/3 hours

Therefore, you have took 8/3 hours to walk 2/3 km distance.

MORE INFORMATION:

⇒ To find single unit, we divide and to find more than single unit, we multiply.

For example, 10 mangoes cost Rs.20. Then, 6 mangoes costs?

⇒ Cost of 10 mangoes = Rs.20

⇒ Cost of 1 mango = Rs. (20 / 10)

⇒ Cost of 1 mango = Rs. 2

⇒ Cost of 6 mangoes = Rs. (2 × 6)

⇒ Cost of 6 mangoes = Rs. 12
