If I were Robinson Crusoe

Last week there was a huge storm at sea. It was a devastating typhoon. Our ship capsized and I was the only person to survive. Floating on the canoe, the only leftover of the ship, I drifted to an island.

The island was completely deserted. I was the only soul on it. I suddenly remembered the plight of Pi in the novel 'Life of Pi' in the lone island of Meer cats.

I hoped the island would not come alive at night and turn cannibalistic. I thus played safe. I chose the highest tree in the island and started building a tree house. Water was a primary problem. I located several coconut trees. I was good with catapult so I got a good collection of coconuts and used them for water.

There were many bananas which served good food. As days passed I got acquainted with the island which was my own. I cut two branches and made a cross. A made a sand Church far from  the beach and fixed the cross on it. It served as my place of worship.

The tree house was nicely equipped with natural resources. From the coconut shells I collected the coir and made a mattress. I got some weeds and spread them on it.

A nice bed was made.  The problem of food and water was solved as there were many flint stones  on the island.

Now was to wait for a ship to save me !
