If in Sclerenchyma cells protoplasm is absent because it is made up of dead cells, then what are the sclenchymatous cells made up of?

Sclerenchyma, in plants, support tissue composed of any of various kinds of hard woody cells. Mature sclerenchyma cells are usually dead and have thick secondary cell walls.
