If it is winter in the northern hemisphere then the opposite season will be in its opposite direction i.e. southern hemisphere.

So according to this line summer will be the season in the opposite direction

Explanation:

  • Due to the rotation of the earth on its axis, the Southern hemisphere receives direct sunlight in the month of December and the Northern Hemisphere is away and receives less sunlight.
  • Since a big portion of the Southern Hemisphere faces the sun, it experiences Summer Solstice while another half apart from the sun experiences Winter Solstice.
