Since k+1, 3k and 4k+2 are in AP....

3k-k-1= 4k+2-3k

2k-1=k+2

k=3

Step-by-step explanation:

  • first term (a) = k+1
  • second term (b) = 3k
  • third term (c) = 4k+2

\boxed{\sf a+c=2b}

\longmapsto \sf k+1+4k+2=2(3k)

\longmapsto \sf 5k+3=6k

\longmapsto \sf 6k-5k=3

\longmapsto \sf k=3
