If lead doesn't react with oxygen and doesn't burn in air, how then doesn't with form leadoxide, PbO.

metals such as lead doesn't reacts with oxygen instead of oxygen it reacts with steam and forms it's oxide.

Yes, lead doesn't react with oxygen very easily. But in certain circumstances it becomes very hard for the metal to withstand it.

Therefore, it turns into lead monoxide
