It is true to say that a leaf will continue to photosynthesise even after it has been removed from the plant, but not for ever.This will prevent the leaf remaining at right angles to the light and therefore result in reduced photosynthesis.

Yeah it will perform photosynthesis but not for much time .According to a science experiment in UK the scientists found that photosynthesis occurs for short period of time
