potentiometer is based in the principal of potential gradient- I.e. v is directly proportional to length of wire l

here the length of wire L is 50cm or0.5 m ...
hence , the potential difference will be 0.5 v

I hope I am right. to much extent ...

Therefore, if the length of the potentiometer wire is 50cm, then the potential drop will be 0.02 V/ cm.

Given,

Length of potentiometer wire = 50cm

To Find,

Potential drop =?

Solution,

To find the potential drop per centimetre, we can use the following formula:

Potential drop = V/L

where V = potential and L = length of the wire

Length of the wire L = 50cm

So substituting we get,

Potential drop= V/ 50

Potential drop = 0.02 V/ cm

Therefore, if the length of the potentiometer wire is 50cm, then the potential drop will be 0.02 V/ cm.
