if lengths of the parallel sides of a trapezium are 8 1/2cm,6cm and height is 5cm ,find the area of trapezium​.​

given ;

parallel side = 81/2 and 6 cm

height = 6 cm

to find ;

area of trapezium

solution;

area \: of \: trapezium =  \frac{1}{2} (sum \: of \: parallel \: side \: )(height) \\  \\ area \:  =  \frac{1}{2}  \times ( \frac{81}{2}  + 6)(5)

area =  \frac{1}{2}  \times  \frac{81 + 32}{2}  \times 5 \\  \\ area =  \frac{1}{2}  \times  \frac{113}{2}  \times 5 \\  \\  = 56.5 \times 2.5 \\  \\ area \: of \: trapezium = 141.20
