Answer:

5 × 10 joule

Explanation:

Given-----> Mass of a body is 1 gm and body is moving with velocity 1 cm / sec .

To find-----> Kinetic energy of body .

Solution------> ATQ,

Mass of body = 1 gm

We change unit of mass to kg , for it we divide mass by 1000.

Mass of body = 1 / 1000 kg

= 0.001 kg

Velocity of body = 1 Cm / sec

We change unit of velocity from cm / sec to m / sec , for this we divide velocity by 100.

Velocity of body = 1 / 100 m / sec

= 0.01 m / sec

We know that,

Kinetic energy =( 1 / 2 ) m v²

= ( 1 / 2 ) × ( 0.001 ) ( 0.01 )²

= ( 1 / 2 ) ( 10⁻³ ) ( 10⁻² )²

= ( 1 / 2 ) ( 10⁻³ ) ( 10⁻⁴ )

= 0.5 × 10⁻³⁻⁴

= 5 × 10⁻¹ × 10⁻⁷

= 5 × 10⁻⁸ joule
