3 median = 2 mean + mode

3 median = 2(60) + 34

3 median = 120 + 34

3  median = 154

median = 51.33

Answer:

The median is 31.33 if the mean is 30 and the mode is 34. Hence, we can conclude that the answer to the abovementioned sentence is 31.33

Explanation:

We know,

A relationship exists in statistics between mean, median, and mode for moderately skewed distribution.

This relationship between mean, median, and mode is known as the "empirical relationship," which is defined as a mode equal to the difference between three times the median and two times the mean.

Thus, we can write,

Mode = 3Median - 2Mean.

Now, in the abovementioned question,

Let the median be denoted as M.

Mode = 3Median - 2Mean.

∴ 34 = 3M - (2 × 30).

or, 34 = 3M - 60

or 3M = 34 + 60 = 94

∴ 3M = 94

M = 31.33

We can therefore conclude that the median is 31.33.
