The variance is 6 .

Explanation:

If we have given the mean and geometric mean of n observations , then the variance is given by :-

V = 2(A-G)

, where A = Mean

G = geometric mean

As per given , we have

A= 12

G= 9

Substitute all theses values in the formula , we get

V = 2(12-9)

V = 2(3)=6

Therefore , the value of variance is 6 .
