Mode = 142.88

Given :

Median = 143 and mean = 143.06

To find :

The median of the distribution

Concept :

For moderately asymmetrical distribution there is an approximate relation between Mean , Mode , median and it is given by

Mean - Mode = 3 (Mean - Median)

⇒ 3 × Median = 2 × Mean + Mode

Solution :

Step 1 of 2 :

Write down the mean and median

Here it is given that median = 143 and mean = 143.06

Step 2 of 2 :

Calculate the mode

3 × Median = 2 × Mean + Mode

⇒ 3 × 143 = (2 × 143.06) + Mode

⇒ 429 = 286.12 + Mode

⇒ Mode = 429 - 286.12

⇒ Mode = 142.88

Hence mode = 142.88
