Concept: A data set's mean (average) is calculated by summing all of the numbers in the set, then dividing by the total number of values in the set.

When a data collection is ranked from least to greatest, the median is the midpoint number.

The number that appears most frequently in a data set is called the mode.

Given: Median = 60

           Mean = 61

To find: Mode

Solution: Using the empirical formula,

3 Median = 2 Mean + Mode

3 × 60 = 2 × 61 + Mode

180 = 122 + Mode

180 - 122 = Mode

58 = Mode
