If modulation index is 1/2 and power of carrier wave is 2w. then what will be the total power in modulated wave

As we know, the equation of the power of carrier wave is

P_{c} =  \frac{E_{c}^{2}}{2R}

And the total power P is

P =  \frac{E_{c}^{2}}{2R} ( 1 +  \frac{ m_{a}^{2} }{2} )

P = P_{c} ( 1 + \frac{ m_{a}^{2} }{2} )

P = 2 ( 1 +  \frac{ (\frac{1}{2})^{2}}{2} )

P = 2 ( 1 +  \frac{1}{8} )

P = 9/4 = 2.25 W
