hello friend...!!

• if n = 3 implies the principal quantum number is 3 , implies that the value of ' l ' is 0 , 1 and 2 .

• here ' l ' denotes, azimuthal quantum number and l = 0 ( s orbital) , l = 1 ( p orbital)
l = 2 ( d orbital)

If n=3 then which value of 'l' is 2.

  • 'n' represents - Principal Quantum number.

    → Represents the shell.

  • 'l' represents - Angular momentum Quantum number.

    → Represents the orbital.

               Value of l =(n-1)

Given:

  • n = 3.
  • Therefore, value of l = 3-1.

                                        l = 2
