n(A ∪ B) = 50 , n(A ∩ B) = 37

Given :

n(A) = 37 , n(B) = 50 and A ⊂ B

To find :

n(A ∪ B) , n(A ∩ B)

Solution :

Step 1 of 2 :

Find n(A ∪ B)

Since A ⊂ B

∴ A ∪ B = B

∴ n(A ∪ B) = n(B) = 50

Step 2 of 2 :

Find n(A ∩ B)

Since A ⊂ B

∴ A ∩ B = A

∴ n(A ∩ B) = n(A) = 37
