Explanation:

Dear student

In any energy level

(1) Where 'n' is principal quantum number

the number of electrons =2n^2

e.g n=1 for K shell e =2

for n=2 i.e in L shell e= 8

n=3 i.e M shell e= 18

(2)Where 'l' is azimuthal quantum

number of electrons in an orbit = 2[2l+ 1]

e.g for l= 0 i.e. s orbit e= 2

for l=1 i.e p orbit e= 2[1+1] = 6

for l=2 i.ed orbit e = 2[ 2*2+ 1] = 10 and so on .

Hope it helps :)
