If normal force is doubled , is frictional force also doubled or not? explain correct answer

generally the coefficient of friction for a rigid solid surface does not change with normal force,the coefficient of friction is taken to be a constant quantity for two adjacent surfaces..but the frictional force changes with the normal force as they are proportional frictional force=coefficient of friction×normal force.
