we need 2nd term, so substitute n = 2

a2 = 24 - 3(2)

a2 = 24 - 6

a2 = 18

We need the value of d, then first find value of a by substituting n = 1

a1 = 24 - 3(1)

a1 = 24 - 3

a1 = 21

As we know,

d = a2 - a1

d = 18 - 21

d = -3
