1)

Number of electrons in an atom = 9

Since it is not an ion, number of electrons will be equal to number of protons.

So, number of protons = 9

We know that,

Atomic Number = Number of protons

So, Atomic Number of atom = 9

Charge of atom = no charge (since number of electrons and protons are equal)

2)

Number of electrons in chlorine = 17

Distribution of electrons =

K - 2

L - 8

M - 7

Valency of chlorine = 1
