Given :  x² + mx + 24 = 0

one root = 1.5

To Find : Value of m

a-10.5

b.-22.5

c.-17.5

d. 16

Solution:

x² + mx + 24 = 0

one root = 1.5

Let say other root = α

Product of Roots =  24/1 = 24

Product of Roots = 1.5α

Equate Both

1.5α = 24

=>α = 16

Sum of Roots  =  - m/1

=> 16 + 1.5  = -m

=> 17.5 = -m

=> m = -17.5

Value of m =- 17.5
