 {x}^{2}  - 8x + k = 0 \\ sum \: of \: roots \:  =  8 \\ 4 +  \sqrt{3}  +  \alpha  = 8 \\  \alpha  = 4 -  \sqrt{3}  \\ product = k \\ (4 +  \sqrt{3} )(4 -  \sqrt{3} ) = k \\ 16 -3 = k \\ k = 13
