Given -

kx² - 14x + 8 = 0

Let one of the roots be 'a' , then the other root is '6a'

a + 6a = 14/k

7a = 14/k

a = 2/k ---(i)

a x 6a = 8/k

6a² = 8/k

Plugging the value of a from eq (i),

6 x (2/k)² = 8/k

6 x 4/k² = 8/k

24/k = 8   (Cancelling 'k' from both the sides)

8k = 24

k= 3

So required value of k' is 3
