Solution : by using our formulas

α + β = - b / a

thus, 2n + 2 = 8

2n = 6

n = 3 .. (i)

now using the 2nd formula,

α * β = c/a

n(n+2) = k/1

n^2 + 2n = k

substituting the value of n from i

3^2 + 2(3) = k

9 + 6 = k

15 = k
