Answer:

 {(x - 1)}^{2}   + kx + 1 = 0 \:  \:  \:  \:

if x= -3 then

  {( - 3 - 1)}^{2}  + ( - 3)k + 1 = 0

16 - 3k + 1 = 0

 - 3k =  - 17

k = \frac{17}{3}
