let the other zero be x. sum of zeros-6+x-b/x. 6+x=5. x=5-6= -1. other zero is -1

The other zero of the polynomial is -1.

Given,

A polynomial x²-5x-6. one of the zeroes of the polynomial is 6.

To Find,

The other zero of the polynomial.

Solution,

The given polynomial is x²-5x-6.

Now, the formula of the sum of zeroes of a polynomial is

Sum of zeroes = -b/a

where

b is the coefficient of x

and a is the coefficient of x².

Let us assume that the other zero is x

So,

6+x = -(-5)/1

6+x = 5

x = -1

Hence, the other zero of the polynomial is -1.
