if oxygen combusts, hydrogen combusts then why does water constituting both does not burn?

hey dear here is ur ans
water is formed from hydrogen and oxygen which are elements. water is a compound.
when elements combine to form compounds in definite ratio,
but when elements r combined to form compounds their constituents lose their identity hence water differs in its properties from oxygen n hydrogen.
