Given:

P(a)=0

To find:

A Factor of polynomial P(x).

Solution:

1) Polynomial is the expression which contains the two or more variables with different degrees.

2) Factor is the expression which is multiplied to the number to get the other number and it is the multiple of the given number.

3) P(a)=0 given which means that the value of the polynomial is 0 when x=a.

  • x=a
  • x-a=0

hence, P(x) = x-a.

A Factor of polynomial P(x)=x-a.
