If P(A) = 2/11 then P(A') = 9/11

Given :

P(A) = 2/11

To find :

The value of P(A')

Solution :

Step 1 of 2 :

Write down the given probability

Here it is given that for the event A

P(A) = 2/11

Step 2 of 2 :

Find the value of P(A')

We know that for any event A ,

P(A) + P(not A) = 1

In order words P(A) + P(A') = 1

Thus we get

P(A) + P(A') = 1

⇒ 2/11 + P(A') = 1

⇒ P(A') = 1 - 2/11

⇒ P(A') = 9/11

Hence the value of P(A') = 9/11
