3x^2−12x−6
Use the quadratic formula to find the solutions.{−b+b2−4(ac)}/2a   & {-b-b2-4(ac)}/2aSubstitute the values a=3a=3b=−12b=-12, and c=−6c=-6 into the quadratic formula and solve for  x.{12±(−12)2−4⋅(3⋅−6)}/2⋅3

Simplify
={12±6√6}/6

x=2±6

The result can be shown in both exact and approximate form.x=2±√6xx≈4.44948974,−0.44948974
