Chillis contain a chemical called capsaicin which when comes in contact with the mouth gives a burning sensation.

Chilli is hot and spicy because of the presence of capsaicin , which is a colourless, odourless and oily chemical found in chilli . It cause the hot and spicy sensation of chilli .
