if p and q are the solution of the equation 2x square +10x + 7=0 where p>q . find the value of p-q​

Answer:

Let p and q are roots of the following equation:

2x^{2} +10x +7 =0

where p>q

=(-10±\sqrt{100-4*2*7 })/4

=(-10±\sqrt{44})/4

p=(-5+√11)/2  and q=(-5-√11)/2

p-q = \frac{(-5+\sqrt{11} )}{2} - \frac{(-5-\sqrt{11} )}{2}

p-q = \frac{-5+\sqrt{11}+5+\sqrt{11}  }{2}

p-q = \sqrt{11} , which is approx. 3.315
