Given polynomial f(x)=2x²-7x+3

and p,q are two zeroes of f(x).

Compare f(x) with ax²+bx+c

we get,

a=2, b=-7,c=3

Now,

i ) p+q = -b/a = -(-7)/2=7/2

ii ) pq = c/a = 3/2

iii) p²+q² = (p+q)²-2pq

=(7/2)²-2×3/2

=(49/4)-3

= (49-12)/4

= 37/4

Therefore,

p²+q²= 37/4
