so, p=q-13

let it be eq---------1

q-13×q=22

2q-13=22

2q=22+13

2q=36

q=36/2

q=18

now p=q-13

so, p=18-13

p=5

p ^{2}  + q  = 5 ^{2}  +  {18}^{2}  \\  = 25 + 324 \\ so \: p ^{2}  + q ^{2}  = 349 \\
