 Given \: p: q = 5 : 7

 Let \: p = 5x \: --(1), \\q= 7x\:--(2)

 Given \: p - q= -4

 \implies 5x - 7x = -4

 \implies -2x = -4

 \implies x = \frac{-4}{-2}

 \implies x =  2

/* Substitute value of x , in equation (1) and (2), we get */

 p = 5x = 5 \times 2 = 10 \: --(3)

 q = 7x = 7 \times 2 = 14 \: --(4)

 Now, Value \: of \: 3p + 4q \\= 3\times 10 + 4 \times 14 \\= 30 + 56 \\= 86

Therefore.,

 \red { Value \: of \: 3p + 4q } \green {= 86}
