For p,q,r,s to be in GP , one way to write the condition is

q2=pr,r2=qs,qr=ps

Now,

((q+r)2)2−(p+q)2(r+s)2=((q+r)2−(p+q)(r+s))((q+r)2+(p+q)(r+s)) .

But

(q+r)2−(p+q)(r+s)

=q2+2qr+r2−pr−ps−qr−qs

=pr+2qr+qs−pr−ps−qr−qs=qr−ps

=0 .
