Multiplying both sides by m, we get

mp/q= mr/s

Adding both sides n , we get

 \frac{mp}{q}  + n =  \frac{mr}{s}  + n \\  \frac{mp + nq}{q}  =  \frac{mr + ns}{s }  \\  mp + nq:q = mr + ns:s
