p(x) = 2x +4 \\ p( - x) = 2 \times ( - x) + 4 = - 2x + 4 \\ = 4 - 2x \\ p(x) + p( - x) \\ = 2x + 4 + 4 - 2x \\ = 8

p[x] + p[-x]
on putting the value
2x+4 + 2x-4
2x+2x
4x.
hope this helps..° °
