if p(x) = 2x³-x²+3x+1, then find the value of p(-1) + p(2)
{the answer is 14,,, but i want to know how?}​

let x = -1

put the value of x in equation

like ,,,,,

p(-1) = 2(-1)^3 - (-1)^2 + 3(-1) + 1

p(-1) = -2 -1 -3 +1

p(-1) = -5[ equation 1 ]

similarly ,,,,

let x= 2

then,,,,

p(2) = 2(2)^3 - (2)^2 + 3(2) +1

p(2) = 16 - 4 +6 + 1

p(2) = 19 [ equation 2 ]

from equation 1 and 2

p(-1) + p(2) = -5 + 19

= 14
