Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

GIVEN:

PQ= 10 cm & PA/PQ= ⅖

PQ/PA = 5/2

(PA + QA) / PA = 5/2

PA/PA QA/PA = 5/2

1 + QA/PA= 5/2

QA/PA = 5/2 - 1

QA/PA  = (5 - 2)/2 = 3/2

PA/QA = ⅔

STEPS OF CONSTRUCTION:

1.Draw line segment of length PQ= 10 cm.

2. Draw any Ray  PX making acute ∠QPX with PQ.

3. Draw a parallel to PX by making

∠PQY = ∠QPX.

4. Make 2 points C1, C2 on PX & 3 points B1,B2,B3 such that

PC1 = C1C2

QB1 = B1B2 = B2B3

5.Join C2  to B3. Then it intersect PQ at a point A.Thus A is the point of dividing PQ such that PA/PQ= ⅖ or PA/QA = ⅔.

The length of PA = 4 cm & AQ= 6 cm.
