let the length of the rectangle be L and the breadth be B
so the perimeter will be 2 x (L+B)
let each side of the square is a so the perimeter will be 4a

given that they are equal

equating both the parameters we can get a = (l + b)/2

buy the problem

a^2 - LB = 4

except this item cannot be done I think actually there is three variables and we have two equations so they cannot be solved check whether there is any relation between the side of square and rectangle or not.
