if pipe A fills the take in 3 hours and pipe B empties a tank in 5 hours. So if the both the pipes work simultaneously then what is the total time taken by the pipes to fill the tanks ?

Suppose the capacity of the tank is 15ltr ( 15 is the lcm of 3 and 5)


So the Pipe A fill 5ltr of water per hour

And pipe B empty at the rate of 3 ltd per hour


A+B = 5+ (-3)= 2

So overall tank fill 2 ltd of water per hour


Tank capacity = 15 lyrics

So, 15/2 =7.5 hrs
