it undergoes the process of photosynthesis but it does not have nitrogen supply from the soil due to lack of rizosomes.(nitrogen fixing bacteria) thus to obtain nitrogen it eats insects as they are good source of nitrogen..

it grows in soil deficient in nitrogen so to fulfill its nitrogen requirement it feeds on insects
