Hello friend!!!

Poriferans are bisexual i.e., have both male and female sex in one organism. But still Cross fertilisation takes place or reproduction between two organisms takes place and this is compulsory.

The reason is that the male sex organ in a single organism matures earlier than the female sex organ. This is called protandrous condition.

So they can't self fertilise until and unless female is mature enough to produce a new organism.

Thus in poriferans reproduction takes place between two organisms.

HOPE THIS HELPS..... :-)
