If price of the fuel is increased by 25% first and then followed by 10% increment. Find the percent by which the man has to reduce his consumption if he want to increase his expenditure by only 10%?

The best way to solve these type of questions is by making assumptions, here we have assumed the fuel price to be Rs. 100 per litre and have provided solution on that basis !

137.5 is the cost and we have only 110, so 137.5 - 110 = 27.5... and when calculating the percentage 27.5/ 137.5 x 100 = 20%
